More on Koketšo Motau

Koketšo Motau was born and bred in Ga-Mathabatha in Limpopo. He's a second born of three children of Lebusha Simon Motau and Ramaesele Rachel Motau.

He's in possession of a B-Tech Degree in Journalism, a National Diploma in Journalism and a National Certificate in Versatile Broadcasting - all from Tshwane University of Technology.

He's passionate about Radio and Broadcasting Journalism and has worked for Radio 702's Eyewitness News as a Journalist between 2016 and 2018 before joining Thobela FM in April 2018.

Koketšo Motau's love for radio was inspired by the likes of Moloko Mashamaite, Thuso Motaung and the late Joe Mabotja.

He went to Dikgeu Primary School in Ga-Mathabatha and did Grade 8 to 10 at Rabasotho Combined School in Diepsloot, North of Johannesburg. Subsequent to this, he completed his Grade 11 and 12 at Mashianyane Secondary School at his hometown of Ga-Mathabatha.

His love for radio started when he was in high school, where he used to broadcast radio shows for his classmates and teachers, using music from his cellphone. He was also doing television news interviews with his classmates as if they were on a live TV.

Koketšo's brighter future for radio and Journalism came to spotlight when he was a TUT student and worked for campus radio station, TUT FM.

Koketšo also made a stint for print journalism as a student journalist, for Record Noweto  (Weekly published community newspaper) where he was awarded as a Print Journalist of the year 2013 and as well Gordon Harris Student Photojournalist of the year 2013.

He was also a nominnee Finalist in other three Journalism award categories - namely:

1. Radio Student Journalist of the year 2013,

2. Online Student Journalist of the year 2013 and

3. Television Student Journalist of the year 2013.

His hard work convinced the TUT Journalism Department to appoint him as a Television News Executive Producer 2015 and 2016. As a student assistant, he was responsible for the content production and supervision of students TV news bulletins, conducting their diary meetings, guiding them on their news stories and also teaching them camera work and video editing.

You want Educational, Informative and Entertaining Radio? Koketšo offers that and more on Thobela FM, every Sunday between 12 and 3 AM on his show called 'Mošito Wa 12 to 3'.
