Popularly known as Hlahlaaphokeng, Maphuti Ali Lamola was born in rural area of Moletsi gaMabitsela in the early 1970s. Attended primary schools at Mokgoba primary and Sehlagane primary respectively he then proceeded to Makgabo Secondary School and later Kgarahara High school in Botlokwa to complete his secondary school studies. Ali has joined SABC in the late 1990s as presenter and producer for educational shows. He hosts programs such as Kgwebo ke Tshelete on Tuesdays at 21h30 -21h00, Makhura a ngwana on Saturdays from 07h35-08h00. Catch him again on Saturdays when he shares the airwaves with his panel on popularly known show Mofahlosi, dubbed Palamente ya Thuto.

Being a qualified teacher, Ali has a passion to educate the nation on a large scope and radio is the relevant weapon to make the dream come true! Ali has broaden his skills for radio by studying Science Radio Journalism in Washington Dc, USA. He has visited other neighboring countries like Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
