With raw talent, a stunning work ethic, it is safe to say Ceeloo is perched firmly amongst the brightest stars in the Radio Industry.

A rural boy at heart, Isaac Masilo Mashila (27), was born in Kgokong village (Ga Mamabolo). He completed his matric in 2010 (Ramashobohle High School) and furthered his studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA), where he completed Public Relations Management (2014), A Short Course in practical guidelines in building stakeholder relations (2016) and currently registered for Hons in Integrated Organisational Communications (UNISA).

In 2015 he was named The Best Radio Presenter at Radio Turf (University of Limpopo), in 2016 he was nominated as the Best Radio personality by Film, Arts, Music and Entertainment (FAME) Awards and in the same year, he was named the best Head of Department at Radio Turf.

Recently, he was labelled as the first Limpopian to be nominated the most (with three categories) in the National Community Radio Week Awards. He was nominated for Best community Radio Personality, Best Community Breakfast Host and for best documentary show.

The multi-award winning Mashila joined Radio Turf in 2011, presenting mid-morning magazine show thereafter juggled array of responsibilities such as being Chief Producer and presenting afternoon drive. He started hosting the award-winning breakfast show (Early Risers) in 2016.

Mashila, better known as Ceeloo discovered his love for radio in the early 2000s and he decided to focus on the dream. “Having no electricity at my village introduced me to radio for the first time. It was the only form of electronic entertainment I had access to and in 2000 I fell in love with the radio.

The award winning Radio Presenter held various positions ranging from art to communications at a very young age. Among others, he worked as a community liaison officer for the Pienaar and Erwee electric consultants in 2012 and as a writer, photographer and journalist for Marketing and communication (University of Limpopo) for two years. His passion for working with people afforded him an opportunity to be elected as a community liaison officer for the Polokwane Municipality’s Ward 31.

At Radio Turf he was a Social Media Coordinator, Copy Writer, Graphic Designer Radio Presenter and A Chief Producer.

His radio career was moulded by the likes of Makwena Makgakga, Maxwell Mojapelo and Sebasa Mogale, from Thobela FM. Mashila says his first date with Radio Happened when ‘Kwenisto’ invited him on his programme called Mphatlalatsane to come and present with him in 2008 because Ceeloo was regular caller. Mogale also gave him a boost me when I presented his show Ditlalemeso with him as part of celebrating youth day.
