Former Polokwane City head coach Luc “Thobela” Eymael said he was forced by the circumstances to resign from the club which he has assisted to be within the top eight brackets in the ABSA Premiership.

During the Thobela FM Mabaleng a Dipapadi show that was hosted by Hodi Tsamago, Eymael confirmed that he has tendered his resignation letter at 13h00 on Thursday 09 March 2017.

When pressed for comment about the main issue that warranted his resignation he said that there was a communication breakdown between his and club chairman Johnny Mogaladi.

“I have tried several times to call chairman before I decided to resign, he did not pick my calls or even return them, he did not respond to the SMSs which I sent him. I felt that the situation is no more bearable. I wished to complete the season with the club and see them playing in the top eight next season” said Eymael.

When asked about his way forward he said: “I wish to stay in the country for a longer period and should I be recruited by any club I will accept the offer. I have studied the South African soccer and I know most of the players up to this stage”.

When asked about the possibilities of joining Bafana Bafana he said: “Should I be approached to coach Bafana Bafana I will accept the offer. Everyone wish to get a top job. Even my friend who led Cameroon to the 2017 AFCON victory said should I get the offer I must accept it without hesitation”.
